Virginia and Mel Lohn are happy you've come.

To the left, you are looking away from the service counter toward the south end of the dining area.  Technology and entertainment have made its way into Mel's in the form of big screen TV and a couple of video arcade games.

This is only half of the area.  Off camera to the left of the columns, is more seating area the same size as what you see in this photo.  (See photo below)

Standing at the south end of the other side of the dining area, looking toward the service counter.  Mel's is always very busy at lunchtime, but the service is quick and friendly, and the dogs are worth every minute.

Every space on the walls and columns are taken up by newspaper articles about Mel's excellent Chicago-Style hot dogs, plaques, photos of Mel's through the years  and anything having to do with hot dogs.

Mel's dining area and service area are immaculate.
