Details on Vicente Perez & Carmen Morales Family

Vicente Perez & Carmen Morales are the furthest back ancestors I know of in my Perez surname lineage. They were my great great gandparents.

In 1920, one of their grandsons (my grandfather, Justo Alfredo Perez) wrote down some family info in his address book which was passed down to me (image at right). In it my grandfather wrote in spanish the names and dates of his wife, parents, aunts & uncles, and grandparents on his father's side (Vicente & Carmen.)

Vicente Perez was born Apr 5, 1835 in Cuba, he died Nov 1, 1889 probably in Cuba. Carmen Morales was born Jul 16, 1841 in Cuba, she died Oct 10, 1920 probably in Cuba, possibly in Key West, FL. Marriage date & place is unknown.

Notice that my grandfather recorded the information in this book on October 17, 1920, one week after the death of his grandmother Carmen Moralez Perez.

My grandfather also listed the birth dates of 18 persons in the section titled as "mis tios" (uncles and aunts,) but did not record their surnames. Of these 18 names, one was his own father Alfredo Perez. His intention seems to be "these are my grandparents' children," because he included his father's name, Alfredo. My grandfather had aunts & uncles on his mother's side of the family (Sosa), but none of these 18 names include them (Dolores, Adela, Mercedes, Rafael & Juana Maria Sosa.)

Below are the names he listed as "mis tios." I first doubted tht one couple could have so many children, so wondered if some of these names are SPOUSES of the children of Vicente & Carmen. However, analyzing their birth dates, all were born at least 9 months apart. They could all be Vicente's & Carmen's children. See the actual entries in his book

#14. Maria Irmenia Perez is shown seated in photo at right, holding daughter Estela. Estela, would marry Alfredo's son, Ricardo Perez. (1st cousin marriage.) Irmenia & Eladio's son Gustavo is on the left, with Eladio behind him. Man on right is Eladio's brother. Photo was probably taken around 1905.
