An important place for the genealogist: the National Archives. Here there are many, many valuable documents, unfortunately almost nothing is computerized.  Only recently has effort been made to digitize records.







Palacio de los Capitanes Generales - During the time Cuba was a colony of Spain, , this is the place where the principal authority of Spain, El Capitan General, lived and worked.  Now it is a city museum.







More "artistas callejeros" (street artists) attracting a crowd.










Next to "El Templete" is the  street "Narciso Lopez"










Monument to Maximo G̣mes, born in Santo Domingo, but a most important patriot in Cuba.

In this same place begins the tunnel that goes under the bay.
