Capello, Salvador - 1920 census, Tampa SCROLL RIGHT TO SEE ENTIRE IMAGE

Salvador Capello is living at 222 Main St. in West Tampa.  He's 58.  Since the 1920 census date was Jan 1, 1920, chances are that he would turn 50 in 1920 so he was born 1861 in Italy.  He immigrated in 1900 and was still an alien in 1920.  His occupation was "Tile Works" for "City Walks", which was probably a job he had constructing sidewalks.  Wife Katherine, age 56, was also from Italy, immigrated in 1903 and was also an alien.  Their only child in the home at this time was Henry, age 23 (born approx 1896 in Florida).  His occupation was also related to sidewalks, for the city.  Listed as a daughter-in-law to Salvador was Marie Cappello, age 18, born in Italy.  This would be Henry's wife.

1930 Census of Henry Cappello, Tampa

Here you see Henry and wife Marie (Mary) in 1930.   Their children are Salvador (age 8) and Cathrine (age 3 and a fraction-[illegible]).  Henry is now the proprietor of a grocery business.  Also in the home is Henry's brother-in-law Philip Randazzo (age 40) and Henry's sister-in-law Annie Randazzo (age 29).  Annie would be Phillip's wife.  Phillip is a bookkeeper, Annie a cigar maker.  Listed as Henry's nieces are Mary and Constant, ages 11 and 13, born in New Jersey.  These may be Phillip's and Annie's children.  Henry's mother-in-law is also living in the same home, Maria Florioso (?) illegible, widowed.  Maria would be Mary Cappello's mother.  Annie Randazzo would probably be a sister of Henry's wife, Mary.  This would make Mary Cappello's maiden name Florioso, since Henry's mother-in-law was Maria Florioso.

There are many other Cappello families in the early censuses of Tampa, so there are likely to be many descendants of these families still living in Tampa.
